PACE issued an open call to designers to conceive and propose 2 new trophy designs for Europe Prize 2019 - a regular trophy for the winning town and a larger version that celebrates all the winning towns since the Prize's inception in 1955.

The dodecagonal trophy preserves the momentous achievement of the winning town by encapsulating its floral emblem in a bath of clear resin, which is later sand-blasted to create a gradation that allows a mellow visual transition as the eye moves up from the etched inscriptions to the encased flower. The 12 facets represent ideals of unity, solidarity and harmony among the people of Europe. Moreover, the trophy uniquely celebrates the success of the winning town as the representative flower is highlighted. For example, if Ukraine is selected as the winner, the sunflower, which is the representative floral emblem, is encased.
The larger trophy is a vessel that houses the winner’s floral emblem and also flowers from the previous winners. In doing so, not only do the winning towns share the honour and glory, the collective arrangement also celebrate Europe's diversity and vibrancy.
